Are you passionate about working with animals and enthusiastic about helping others learn hands‑on skills? Capel Manor College is looking for a dedicated Practical Instructor in Animal Management to join our dynamic team.
As a Practical Instructor, you will play a vital role in supporting our teaching staff and guiding students through the practical elements of their Animal Management courses. You will lead engaging sessions that bring learning to life, demonstrating safe handling techniques, animal husbandry tasks, feeding routines, enrichment activities, and other essential skills. Your expertise will help students develop the confidence, competence and professional behaviours they need to succeed in the sector.
You will also be responsible for maintaining excellent standards of animal welfare and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed throughout all practical activities.
We are seeking candidates who:
- Hold a Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Animal Management or a related subject
- Have hands‑on experience caring for animals in a professional setting
- Are confident demonstrating skills and guiding others — whether through training, mentoring, or workplace instruction
- Are enthusiastic about supporting learners from a wide range of backgrounds
Experience in education is not required, what matters most is your practical knowledge, communication skills, and a genuine passion for helping others develop.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in an educational environment as well as animals and wish to build their experience within a college setting. It offers a valuable opportunity to gain insight into teaching practice and support learner development, helping to strengthen skills that can contribute to future career progression within the sector.
At Capel Manor College, you’ll be part of a vibrant, supportive, and forward‑thinking Animal Management team who are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.
If you are motivated, compassionate, and excited about inspiring the next generation of animal professionals, we would love to hear from you.
