The College recruits apprentices to work in roles such as gardening, agriculture, IT, Finance and administration.
No previous experience is necessary to become an apprentice with the College. A good standard of English and Maths is required, although where an individual does not hold a Level 2 English and Maths qualification, they will be supported to achieve this as part of their apprenticeship.
The nature of the work conducted will vary depending on the role. Our gardening apprentices, for example, will work in the Capel Manor College gardens maintaining our comprehensive plant collection. They will carry out weeding, forking, hoeing, mulching and fertilising, they will carry out the pruning and management of trees and shrubs and undertake the planting of trees, shrubs and bedding. Our IT apprentices, for example, will help to maintain the College IT network and infrastructure for service users, including providing first line advice, support and instruction to users calling the IT helpdesk, installing new IT equipment, such as computers, projectors and printers and maintain and repair IT equipment.
