    Team Lead Animal Management 

    Are you passionate about animal welfare, ambitious about curriculum innovation, and ready to lead a high-performing team?

    Capel Manor College is seeking an inspiring Team Leader in Animal Management to help shape the next generation of animal professionals.

    Our department of Animal Management delivers an ambitious and diverse portfolio of provision. This includes: Level 1 Introduction to Animal Care, Level 2 Animal Care Technical Diploma, Level 3 Animal Management Diploma and the T Level in Animal Management and behaviour. We also offer Access to Higher Education Diplomas in Veterinary Science and Animal Science and Welfare, a Keeper and Aquarist Apprenticeship, and Higher Education programmes in Animal Management and Zoology and Animal Management and Biodiversity. In addition, we deliver a BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour degree, reflecting our commitment to academic progression and specialist expertise within the sector.

    As Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in leading, managing and developing a dynamic curriculum area within the department. You will inspire and support your team to deliver exceptional teaching, foster a culture of innovation and reflective practice, and drive continuous improvement through robust self-assessment and quality assurance. Acting as Lead Internal Verifier, you will ensure all quality assurance procedures are fully implemented and maintained to the highest standard.

    You will work collaboratively across the department and with industry partners to ensure that provision remains current, relevant and responsive to both student and employer needs. With a strong focus on student achievement, progression and value added, you will champion high standards of teaching, learning and assessment while encouraging new and creative approaches to curriculum delivery.

    We welcome applications from experienced curriculum managers looking for a new challenge, as well as outstanding classroom practitioners ready to take their first step into leadership. The successful candidate will hold a HND, degree or equivalent qualification in a science or animal-related discipline.

Generous Annual Leave

Academic staff and those on Leadership and Management scales receive 45 days of leave. Business and Learning Support staff get 30-32 days, with an additional five days after four years of service. All entitlements include bank holidays
