An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College for a dedicated and experienced Part-Time Learning Support Coordinator to join our Learning Support team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing, coordinating, and reviewing support arrangements for students with declared learning difficulties and disabilities. Responsibilities will include conducting initial learning support assessments, preparing high-needs funding applications, contributing to risk assessments, completing local authority consultations, and participating in annual reviews.
You will also coordinate a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services, including the allocation of Learning Support Assistants, implementation of examination access arrangements, dyslexia support, and targeted interventions. This position is offered on a job-share basis, and the postholder will act as the designated key worker for an allocated caseload of learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and other students with SEND.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within an educational setting and supporting young people with learning difficulties and disabilities. You will possess a sound understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and statutory SEND responsibilities.
You will be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills, a compassionate and student-centred approach, and the ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The actual salary for this role is £19,134 - £20,187.60 inclusive of London Weighting
