  • About The Role and Person

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a Caretaker to be responsible for general caretaking and maintenance tasks.  The post holder will work in a small team to carry out general maintenance, caretaking and estates support at one of the College's campuses.  They will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and upkeep of College buildings and equipment and ensure that the campus is clean and safe.  They will also be responsible for site security and will carry out opening and closing duties and will will work as part of a rota to respond to out of hours issues, as required.

    The ideal candidate will have have good practical skills and be able to undertake routine repairs, maintenance and redecoration tasks as required.  They will have a basic understanding of plumbing and electrical issues and have a working knowledge of building fabric and maintenance. 

    The role will require some shift working and this will be discussed at interview.  Some occasional weekend working may be required.

Generous Annual Leave

Academic staff and those on Leadership and Management scales receive 45 days of leave. Business and Learning Support staff get 30-32 days, with an additional five days after four years of service. All entitlements include bank holidays
