An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College for a passionate and knowledgeable Lecturer in Animal Management to join our dynamic and growing team. We are seeking an individual with strong scientific expertise who can deliver high-quality teaching and learning across our Animal Management provision, with a particular focus on Higher Education programmes and Access to Higher Education pathways, including Veterinary Science and Animal Science and Welfare.
Our School of Animal Management offers a comprehensive range of courses from Level 1 through to degree-level study. This includes the Level 1 Introduction to Animal Care, Level 2 Animal Care Technical Diploma, and Level 3 Animal Management Diploma, alongside Access to HE Diplomas, a Keeper and Aquarist apprenticeship, and Higher Education programmes in Animal Management and Zoology. Students benefit from excellent facilities and a diverse animal collection, including exotic, farm, and companion species with reptiles, amphibians, mammals and birds housed across all campuses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging and academically rigorous teaching that supports students' progression into higher-level study and employment within the animal science sector. This will include planning and delivering stimulating lessons, setting ambitious goals that stretch and challenge learners, and effectively monitoring and assessing student progress. You will provide constructive feedback that enables students to develop their scientific understanding, critical thinking and academic skills, while consistently modelling professional values and behaviours expected within the industry. We are looking for a forward-thinking educator who can inspire learners, contribute to curriculum development, and bring enthusiasm, innovation and subject expertise to the classroom.
